Utilizing creative nonfiction strategies, the installation’s narration was constructed entirely of text sourced from from male colleague reminiscences, internal etiquette manuals, and office memos describing the largely anonymous women and their work.
Every sourced text is footnoted with its location in the TIME archive (by box number and folder name)—an invitation to the viewer to seek out the sources of these individual statements for themselves.
